Having checked our schedule, realising the time granted for this project is about a week sent me into a frantic scramble. Ideas were many but it was like shovelling them through a funnel – nothing comes out from the other end. The ideas are documented in this file below:
My interest in QR codes came from the past Investigate project, which grabbed my attention during the process – its runic and even cultic visual nature has gone completely docile as a result of information age. By this point I was not certain, whether QR code in general could be hacked as a tool, or whether I should stay grounded with a more specific tool, such as a QR code generator.
QR code technology has made it an almighty tool – it can basically do anything from storing data to redirecting users and completing specific actions. The way to hack it thus should be hacking its concept – reverting it to the most basic form of communication: an alphabetic language.
